Fold partnered with Niantic to create Enter the Metaverse, an augmented reality game where players “mine the block” every ten minutes—bursting it open to spill bitcoin rewards, in-app boosts, and hazards into the real world. Players could collect real-life sats while in-game bonuses kept the loops fun and addictive. I led visual design and game experience, bringing the intangible world of bitcoin into players’ physical surroundings—and rewarding that learning with the tangible payoff of earning actual bitcoin.
